Most bands don’t make it to their fourth album.
Let alone without a label, management or the usual machinery needed to make records happen.
They were lectured that releasing 2019’s self-titled debut album without a label was a huge mistake. At every turn, the independent group were told to work with promoters to stand a chance of selling out a headline show. Believing in themselves, As December Falls refused to listen.
The band started with a common goal that endures to this day – to write some great songs and take it as far as they could. But it does feel like As December Falls vs the world.
Every step of the way, the fiercely independent band proved each one of those doubters wrong. The self-titled debut saw the band sell out 90% of their self-booked UK headline tour. As they went into 2020, they were more comfortable, more confident and more sure of themselves than ever.
The debut really set something in motion for the band and “It’s just snowballing now.” With their future very much in their own hands, 2021 gave them a chance to work out exactly what sort of band they wanted to be. They agreed, “Let’s make this thing as big as we can get it.” They’ve maintained that resilient DIY spirit: ‘Happier’ came out on their own label and they’ve kept full control of every aspect of the band.
Once again, they have decided to rely on their own strength for their fourth album “Everything’s On Fire But I’m Fine”, released on the 15th August 2025.
The band is currently working on a follow up album, and recently released single Anymore, a bombastic taster of what’s to come:
With our new track Anymore, we wanted it to feel like a clear step into a new era for the band. It’s fast, hook-driven, and pulls in more electronic elements than we’ve used before, which gives it a really modern, high-energy feel.
Lyrically, it’s about reaching a breaking point and not wanting to be here anymore, which is where we introduce the main character of a new world that we’re building the 5th album on – Blue. Thematically it almost feels like the natural progression of our track Therapy off of Everything’s On Fire But I’m Fine.
The song is the starting point of a bigger narrative across the album, where she discovers the ability to portal between worlds and escape her reality. Each song from the new record will be accompanied by a short story for fans to really get into the lore of the record.
It’s the sound of us pushing forward creatively while building something much more cinematic and story-driven than we’ve ever done before and I’m so excited to share it with the world!
